Applications for the Exeter Knee Fellowship

Closing Date: end of October 2016

Hi,

Knee joint closeup view. Isolated on white

We here at the Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit (EKRU) would like to invite you to apply for the Exeter Knee Fellowship.

Exeter is a busy Orthopaedic centre with an excellent clinical and academic heritage.

The Exeter Knee Fellowship has been running for over 15 years. There are 5 Consultants who specialise in knee surgery (Toms, Eyres and Phillips – arthroplasty and revision; Schranz and Mandalia – soft tissue). We have three knee fellows, a registrar, two surgical nurse practitioners, two ESPs and a research fellow.

The knee surgery performed in Exeter includes complex arthroplasty and revision surgery, as well as soft tissue surgery including osteotomy, cartilage and meniscal transplant. We are currently involved in over eight knee randomised controlled trials so there is plenty of high quality research to get involved in. You will be expected to complete one research project during your time with the team.

Fellowships are available for six months or one year, and the candidate will have the opportunity to work both with the arthroplasty team as well as with the soft tissue team. There will also be exposure to general and knee-specific trauma during the fellowship.

Exeter is also a fabulous part of the country to live in and we hope that you will make the most of the fantastic countryside and beaches.

We are looking for high quality, motivated senior trainees or post-CCT trainees who have an interest in knee surgery.

We have one space available in Feb 2017, and we are looking to appoint fellows from August 2018 onwards.

If you are interested, please contact me at jonphillips@nhs.net for further information.

We will be advertising this month with a closing date at the end of the October 2016.

Regards
