Lister Upper Limb Unit Shoulder Arthroplasty course

1st Lister Upper Limb Unit Shoulder Arthroplasty course, for SpRs in training. The course aims to cover the basic principles of shoulder degenerative disease and treatment with shoulder arthroplasty and will also address proximal humeral fractures in relevance to shoulder replacement.

The course will be held at the Pullman London St Pancras Hotel (adjacent to Euston and King’s Cross stations) on Friday, 31/01/2010. The course is fully subsidised by the organisers.

This day will be valuable in preparation for your FRCS (Orth) exam and for trainees interested in pursuing a future career in upper limb surgery. You will have the opportunity to interact with an experienced faculty in the field with a faculty:delegate ratio of 1:5. You will also go through case studies and practice with the relevant kit for shoulder hemiarthroplasty, anatomic and reverse shoulder replacement.

Given the sub-speciality nature of the course, it will be more suitable for mid-level to senior SpRs with some experience in upper limb surgery.

Bookings are on a first-come first-served basis, so please book early in order to avoid disappointment as we only have 20 places available on the course. Please find attached the relevant flyer for the course, the programme for the day and a booking form; please complete this and email back to adultshouldertrauma.enh-tr@nhs.net in order to confirm your booking.
