Dear Candidates,
To those of you brave enough to put your names down, hope you’re ready for a grilling at the Norfolk and Norwich on 15/12/17..
Junior registrars should use it as an eye opener for what is expected of you in the upcoming years, and senior registrars should find this to be useful exam preparation.
Just a few pointers for the upcoming MOCK exam.
1. Please look at the attachment closely with regards to timings- there are multiple sittings, so please find your name and note the specific time of your exam. EoE_exam_times
2. Attend 30 minutes before the start of your session to complete registration.. If you’re not here within 30min of the start of the session , you lose your spot
3. Registration will be in the East atrium outside the Gooch theatre, level 1.
4. Please dress appropriately as you would for a clinic.
5. This MOCK exam will be run as an FRCS format, therefore there will be no teaching but a formative mark for each station will be provided on your individual marking sheet
6. Faculty have been asked to treat this like a real exam, and you should do the same.
7. ST 3, 4, 5 – will be paired for the exams but each trainee will receive a mark for their performance. ST 6, 7, 8 – will be flying solo for the real deal experience
8. Parking is tight – please factor this into your journey time; you will be required to pay for car parking.
9. Mr. Wimhurst is an examiner for the FRCS Ortho and will be giving a talk at 1230 about the exam and will no doubt provide some valuable tips regarding the exam, and would suggest those sitting in the next few years stick around for this (ST5 and above). Location of the lecture – Mckee Room
10. Finally – no refreshments but the canteen is decent and PURE serve a decent coffee
