TIG Fellowships; Major trauma

TIG fellowships are in-training 1-year UK fellowships with kudos.

TIG fellowships are in-training 1-year UK fellowships with kudos.

They have to be commenced while you still hold an NTN, although you are allowed to extend your CCT till the end of the fellowship, thus potentially creating almost a 7th year of NTN training if your CCT is e.g. end July and you commence on 1 July the same year. They are usually, but not always, done in ST8.

They replace a lot of the UK “post-CCT” fellowships and are very popular, hence the advice to check on the TIG website if you might be interested in applying for one of these, and making plans early.

As they are competitive, there is credibility attached to doing one, and in most cases Mr Johnston would be happy to sign you “out of programme” to undertake one of these.
